HWE Cast Iron Thimble Mounted Sluice Gate

HWE thimble mounted sluice gate are made generally as per IS:13349-1992 / AWWA C560 / BS 7775.. Sluice gates are manufactured in square, rectangular and circular opening. This sluice gates are generally open top type with flange / flat back. Thimble are manufactured either E or F type. Length of the thimble is restricted to 300mm. Seat faces are made up of non corrosive material such as brass or stainless steel. Sluice gate are manufactured in conventional as well as flush bottom closure.

Advantages of using thimble mounted sluice gates:

• Sluice gate can be  dismounted with breaking concrete. This beneficial for replacement and repairs. 
• Since sluice gate and thimble have machined flanges,  water sealing characteristic of sluice gates improve.
• Civil construction can be completed by fixing the thimble and sluice gate can be installed at a later date. 

Flange back sluice gates can be mounted on puddle pipe and are used in intake well. Operation of sluice gate can be done by manual / geared headstock, electric actuator and pneumatic actuator. Manual lifting mechanism are provided such that single person can operate gate with effort < 20 kgs. Non rising spindle type sluice gate can be manufactured upon request.
